Laundry Worker Job 

Laundry Attendants are professionals who are employed in many capacities to oversee and be responsible for the operations of laundromats, hotels, and other facilities. Laundry workers often use different techniques that can help clean clothing as well as other textiles.

Job Brief 

At YWCA Hotel, we are seeking an attentive laundry worker to support the functions of our establishment and the needs of our customers. The job responsibilities of a laundry worker may include cleaning, pressing, and folding laundry as needed. Also, they may be in charge of the maintenance of laundry equipment and other duties around the facility.

Furthermore, you will play an important role in the presentation of the establishment by ensuring all textiles are well cared for and maintained. Women and families in crisis will also receive assistance with temporary emergency housing, along with individuals requiring short-term and medium-term lodging. The major aim of this job role is to supply the hotel with clean linen. You will be reporting to the Housekeeping Manager. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Washing, drying, and folding linen according to the schedule daily for the hotel. 
  • Sorting and setting aside repairable articles. 
  • Cleaning equipment and floors in the laundry.
  • Keep an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits
  • Track maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment
  • Ensure that the facility remains clean at all times
  • Anticipate and respond to customers’ queries, concerns and complaints 
  • Other Duties as required 

Requirements 

  • You must have a valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations).  
  • The YWCA Metro Vancouver’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as such, you do not need COVID-19 vaccination at this time. However, should circumstances change and the YWCA deem it necessary to reintroduce such a policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19. This will allow you to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
